Elle

Website

Inspired by a tender moment between an elephant mother and her calf in a wildlife documentary, I was moved to create a sculpture that honors both heritage and maternal love. As a tribute to the diverse cultures of my friends and the global wisdom I’ve gained through my craft, this piece blends reverence with personal meaning. The elephant, a symbol of wisdom and protection, connects to my longtime appreciation for deity amulets—especially Ganesha, the elephant-headed Hindu god of new beginnings, known in Thailand as Phra Phikanet. Named Elle, a play on “elephant” and the Thai word for “sun ray,” the sculpture embodies both divine inspiration and the warmth of motherhood. Elle reflects strength, nurturing, and new beginnings—qualities I cherish as a parent and artist. Though my thoughts began in fragments—memories of travel, spirituality, and family—they coalesced into a clear vision: a cultural homage wrapped in grace, tradition, and love.
